Powertran 240/9+9 30VA Toroidal Transformer

These low profile 30VA transformers will fit inside our 1 Unit 19" rack cases. Toroidal transformers are becoming increasingly popular due to their improved magnetic properties. They can also be made to a lower profile than a standard solenoid core transformer. This allows the equipment to conform to a lower rack unit height i.e. 1RU, 2RU, 3RU. The advantage of the toroidal (donut) shape is that, due to its symmetry, the amount of magnetic flux that escapes outside the core (leakage flux) is minimised. Therefore, the electromagnetic interference (EMI) that is radiated to nearby circuits or equipment is less. EMI is of increasing importance in modern low power, high frequency electronics. Toroidal transformer are highly efficient and are replacing the laminated type as the accepted industry standard, because toroids offer advantages in size, weight, and lower radiated field. The entire range has been tested and approved to the Australian standard AS/NZS 61558.2.6. This standard is equivalent to the European standard EN61558.2.6 making the transformers suitable for the European market (where 240V is used).
