The SmartShunt is an all in one battery monitor, minus the display. Your phone does that job instead. It connects via Bluetooth to the VictronConnect app so you can check state of charge, time to go, and historical data straight from your phone or tablet.
It can also be read by a GX device over VE.Direct, so it drops straight into a larger Victron setup.
If you want proper battery monitoring without the extra wiring and clutter of a screen based monitor, the SmartShunt is the simpler alternative to a BMV.
